Meow there, fellow cat enthusiasts!
My name is Stacey, and if you’re reading this, you may have already guessed, I’m proudly a crazy cat person—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve had cats my entire life, and it’s safe to say they’ve always been at the centre of my world. Currently, I share our home (although I’m pretty sure our cats believe it’s their kingdom and we’re just here to serve them) with a lively crew of furballs: a Seal Tortie Ragdoll, a Male Mitted Blue Lynx Ragdoll, his mum, a Blue Lynx Bi-Colour Ragdoll who we purchased last year when she retired from the show ring and having kittens, our shy female Chocolate Himalayan, and last but certainly not least, our overly energetic female Blue Point Siberian.
Now, before you think I’m a purebred-only snob, let me assure you, that couldn’t be farther from the truth! In fact, last year we said goodbye to our beloved three-legged rescue tabby who lived to a wonderful 19+ years old. A month later, we lost our domestic medium-hair, aka Skunk kitty at 15, who was also a rescue. We’ve also said farewell to two incredible black cats: one was rescued from a feral colony at just five weeks old and lived to be 16; the other, a shelter adoption at age 3, who we lost at 17.
So yes, I may be a crazy cat lady, but I’m also a proud rescue advocate. Along with my furry family, I have four wonderful adult children—two sons, a daughter, and a bonus son.
Professionally, I have a background as a surgical vet tech, and I even ran my own cat-sitting service for several years. This combination of personal and professional experience has shaped my deep understanding of feline care. I’m also an active member of several cat-focused communities on Facebook, where I love sharing stories and advice about our fur babies while helping fellow cat owners.
After seeing many questions asked repeatedly in these groups, I felt it was time to share my knowledge and passion more widely. That’s why I decided to launch this cat care blog—to help fellow cat lovers with everything from stories to practical advice.
